After several small television roles, Margulies achieved success in her regular role as Nurse Carol Hathaway on NBC’s long-running medical drama ER, for which she won an Emmy Award. She holds the record for winning more Screen Actors Guild Awards than any other individual. Margulies, the youngest of three daughters, was born in Spring Valley, New York.
